Is there a center that we can go after that deals with extracurricular offers such as volunteering works either in the college community or in a laboratory setting?

Can I get involved in any sort of charity or volunteer work through the university?

Do they certificate us for our time and volunteer work spent there similar to how it happens here in Brazil?

There are a couple of ways you can volunteer in Toronto. One possibility is to enroll yourself in institutions that offer volunteering opportunities. For instance, there is the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (visit cbcf.org), which offers several chances for you to volunteer in events that they created to support cancer research. In addition, you can join the Volunteer program offered by the English Language Program at UofT. They have a special day every week when they will host an information session to explain how the program works and where to volunteer. Any one can participate, even if you are not an ELP student. The school is located at 252 Bloor Street West, Suite 4-106. At the end of the volunteer activity, you will receive a certificate with the number of hours that you worked in that day and the activities you were involved in.
